CHICAGO (WLS) — Calling all Cubs fans! New bars, restaurants and sports betting facilities connected to Wrigley Field will be opening soon. DraftKings Sportsbook just previewed its space on Tuesday.
The 2,000 square foot video wall may be the first thing you notice when you enter DraftKings Sportsbook. The display can be configured to display up to several dozen sporting events at a time, or just one. The video wall is ideal for entertainment venues where DraftKings expects to focus mainly on sports betting.

“Why are you here versus sitting at home on your couch? You may not have one in your living room. We try to provide a unique experience,” said Blake Milburn of Marquee Development.
DraftKings has been working on this space for over a year and it will open to the public later this month.
While the sportsbook is connected to Wrigley Field, it shares some of the park's iconic brick and steel beams and you can see the adjacent concourse through a window, Draft Kings Sportsbook is considered a separate building.

While they do not yet have regulatory approval to offer sports gaming, they are poised to open to members of the 21 and over community as a sports bar and restaurant.
“The experience and atmosphere here is unprecedented at any location we have in the Wrigley area,” said Jeff Denlea of Levy Hospitality.
Last fall, the Bulls and Blackhawks introduced a FanDuel Sportsbook location next to the United Center. They are also waiting for regulatory approval to start offering sports betting.

DraftKings plans to use this location connected to historic Wrigley Field as a flagship location for their businesses across the country. While waiting for sports betting, they believe the bar still has enough other attractions to bring in customers, including the food menu.
“We're trying to make it more unique with our twist. It's more of a higher level than what you see in a sports bar around here,” says Executive Chef at Levy David Burns, who curates the sportsbook menu.
DraftKings hopes to place a sports betting kiosk at this location, but they still have to meet regulatory approvals and be granted a license by the Illinois gaming board. While restaurants will open next week, the sportsbook walls will remain empty.
