Caught a 50-plus inch muskie on the same day for the second year in a row

John Burke caught a 50-plus-inch muskie on June 29 for the second year in a row from Eagle Lake in Ontario. This year, it's the muskie 50 119/12/20174 inch. Last year, he caught his best 52 inch muskie.

The Lake Zurich man caught it on Thursday in a 25-year-old Mepps Giant Killer bucktail, two hours before the storm hit.

“Cracked within 8 feet, about 6 feet down, of an island near a weed line,” he tweeted. “This is a nice off-island transition area in Portage Bay.”
