CHICAGO (WLS) — A 45-year-old man died in a home invasion in Rogers Park early Tuesday, Chicago police said.
The man was inside his home on the 7600 block of North Sheridan Road around 3:33 a.m. when police said someone started knocking on the back door and pushed the door open.
The intruder then entered and opened fire inside the house, hitting the victim as he was standing in the living room, police said.
The suspect then ran north in an alley and a witness at the apartment called 911, police said.
The victim was shot several times in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
No one has been arrested and Area Three detectives are investigating.
