CHICAGO (WLS) — Two North Side 7-11 stores were robbed at gunpoint in separate incidents Monday morning, Chicago police said.
The first occurred in the 1100 block of West Belmont Avenue at around 3:37 am
Two male suspects entered the shop and pulled out a gun and the shop employee then screamed into a back room and locked himself in, police said.
The suspects grabbed two cash registers and fled in an unknown direction.
The second robbery occurred around 4 a.m. in the 2300 North Damen Avenue block when police said a male suspect armed with a revolver walked in and demanded money.
Police said the suspect took money from a register and fled in a black SUV.
No injuries were reported in either incident and no one was arrested.
Police say the robbery is not related. Area Three detectives are investigating.
