There is concern in Thailand for the health of the King's daughter, HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati. In the announcement at around 16.00 local time on December 15, 2022, parties Palace announced that the princess “collapsed from a heart ailment”. The 44-year-old princess collapsed while outside with her dog on a trip to Khao Yai in northeastern Thailand. Asian News Channel (CNA) reported that the King's daughter has been training her dog in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima in preparation for the Royal Thai Army's Thai Working Dog Championships 2022.
CNA also reported that the Thai royal received medical treatment at Pak Chong Nana Hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima before being transferred by helicopter to Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha is the eldest child of King Vajiralongkorn (Rama X). His mother was Princess Soamsawali whom the King married in 1977 when he was crown prince. The marriage ended in divorce in 1991.
The princess was born at the Dusit Palace in Bangkok on 7 December 1978 and was educated in Thailand and England. Also known in Thailand as Princess ‘Pa' or ‘Patty', she is the first grandchild of Thailand's King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit.
