CHICAGO (WLS) — President Biden arrives in Chicago early Wednesday and will give a speech on the economy at the Old Post Office.
The president is making a push to sell people on his economic plan, also known as “Bidenomics.”
The administration uses the term to highlight the progress of their economy to date as well as plans going forward to help rebuild the economy from the middle up and down.
President Biden's office says it's not a new concept, as he has articulated this philosophy in nearly every economics-related speech he's given in 2020 and as president.
Illinois Lieutenant Governor Julianna Stratton said she believes Bidenomics is already helping people in Illinois.
“It ensures that we're not only rebuilding our roads and bridges but also creating jobs and that's something we're definitely benefiting from here in Illinois… hundreds of thousands of jobs, high paying jobs some of which don't even require a college degree,” said Stratton. “That's how we continue to build our economy.”
Lieutenant governor and Governor JB Pritzker will join President Biden later Wednesday afternoon with several fundraising efforts for the 2024 presidential bid.
He will meet with donors at the JW Marriott before he leaves town Wednesday night.
