At least 2 shots in Romeoville at entertainment center: official

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (WLS) — Romeoville village officials said at least two people had been shot at a suburban entertainment complex late Friday.

In a tweet, village officials confirmed that Romeoville police had responded to The Scene75 Entertainment Center at 460 South Weber Road for the shooting.

Two people have been taken to the area hospital for treatment, village officials said in their tweet, although they did not release any information about the condition of the two people.

Romeoville Police said they first received a 911 call for shots fired shortly after 8:30 p.m.

Police and village officials asked the public to stay away from the area, where there are many police. Romeoville Police said they knew who the suspects were and what they were wearing, and believed they were locked up in the marshland behind the compound. They are now working to catch the suspect, including searching the area with a heat-detecting drone.

Police said the car chase on I-80/94 was linked to the shooting, and involved a car which police said was seen leaving the scene, but the suspect was not inside. The car and those inside returned to Romeoville for questioning, police said.

No further information is immediately available. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police at 815-886-2141.
