The Archdiocese of Chicago held Sunday Mass at the Holy Name Cathedral

CHICAGO (WLS) — The Archdiocese of Chicago is broadcasting Sunday Mass from the Holy Name Cathedral on ABC7.

Mass airs on TV at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays, at abc7chicago.com and on the ABC7 Chicago app.

The move comes after the Archdiocese of Chicago and Joliet Diocese announced they would be suspending all public masses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some Masses have resumed.

“During this difficult time, it is very important for the faithful to have access to the graces and comforts of Holy Mass,” said Bishop Joliet Ron Hicks.

Hicks said the church doesn't want to ban people from praying in faith.
