More than 200 catalytic converters were found in Humboldt Park; 2 arrested

CHICAGO (WLS) — Two men have been charged and more than 200 catalytic converters have been found in Humboldt Park, police said.

Police said Marzel Woodard, 36, and Vincent Parks, 36, were arrested Friday in the 4500 West North Avenue block. The Chicago Major Auto Theft Investigation Unit has charged them with being linked to an investigation into a stolen catalytic converter.

Police said more than 210 catalytic converters and equipment used in the theft were found in a building on the same block as the arrests.

Woodard was charged with conspiracy to organize/aggravated vehicle theft and aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle, both felonies. Parks was charged with one felony count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Both are due in bond court Saturday.
